Coatham Sands, Redcar

Coatham Sands is a popular stretch of sandy beach on the North Yorkshire coast close to the town of  Redcar, backed by sand dunes and Coatham golf course. Kite surfing and wind surfing are popular activities seen here. There is a leisure centre close to the beach and lost child and first aid facilities are available with the lifeguards. Parking is only a short walk away, as are the facilities of the town centre.

Coatham also has a section of it designated as a site of specific scientific interest (SSSI), this area is popular with birdwatchers.
