The beach has historic interest in the form of some WWII defenses, including a pillbox.

Fraisthorpe has in the past been used as a naturists beach, due to its remote location, the current council are trying to disuade naturists from usinng the beach, but naturism is not illegal and there is a small chance that you may encounter naturists if you visit the beach.

There is a small charge of £2 for the car park, which is open till 9:30pm. There are signs up that discourage nudism and barbeques, though that is something that we wouldn't recommend combining anyway. If you head to the right along the beach there is usually plenty of space, even on the hottest summer weekends, and it still feels like you have the beach to yourself.

All along the clay cliffs duing the spring and early summer months, sand martins can be seen nesting and feeding their young.

The end of the Dyke is a deep ravine on the south side of the Headland, where it exits into Bridlington Bay. Located on the south side of the dramatic Flamborough Headland, the beach at Danes Dyke is an impressive 1km stretch of sand, striking white pebbles and rock pools, bound by imposing cliffs to the east and west. There are a number of nature trails which run through Danes Dyke Local Nature Reserve.

This is the site of the new Lifeboat station, which moved from the North Landing, and is perhaps not as spectacular as North Landing, but with a better beach, which is wonderful for picnics. In addition to the beach itself, there is a circular nature trail walk around the top of the cliffs and the main cliff-top walk which takes you to the Lighthouse.

It is the site of the old Lifeboat Station, as the lifeboat has now moved to South Landing. North Landing is still famous for its smugglers' caves and panoramic views north along the coast to Filey and Scarborough. Once the centre of Flamborough's small, but active fishing industry, a few cobles can still be seen. The secluded beach is a perfect place to while away a summer's afternoon.

Fishing is the most common activity at the beach. Swimming is not advised and there is no zoning for water sports activities.

There is a cafe and toilets available near the beach.
