Cattersty Sands form a long sandy beach with rocks at either end and a long pier in the middle. The beach forms part of a beautiful stretch of the Cleveland way.

The beach at Saltburn is a sand and shingle beach with a pier. A Victorian tram runs from the cliff to the promenade during the summer. Saltburn is a popular beach for surfing. Facilities include: toilets with disabled facilities, a cafe/restaurant, deckchair hire and a slipway. A range of activities can be undertaken from swimming to windsurfing, surfing to sea canoeing and jet skiing to bowling. There is both free and pay parking near the beach. There is parking available for disabled visitors.

Redcar Stray is a quiet sandy beach located between Redcar and Marske, there is a car park next to the road just a short walk from the beach itself. With no facilities in the immediate vacinity, the beach is less popular with families than the sands at Redcar and Saltburn.

Coatham Sands is a popular stretch of sandy beach on the North Yorkshire coast close to the town of  Redcar, backed by sand dunes and Coatham golf course. Kite surfing and wind surfing are popular activities seen here. There is a leisure centre close to the beach and lost child and first aid facilities are available with the lifeguards. Parking is only a short walk away, as are the facilities of the town centre.

Coatham also has a section of it designated as a site of specific scientific interest (SSSI), this area is popular with birdwatchers.

Marske Sands is a quiet and serene sandy beach located between Redcar and Saltburn on the Yorkshire coast, the small slipway means that the beach is popular for those with boats. Car parking is available near the beach and there are public toilets near by.

The white blobs in the picture are jellyfish, not plastic bags. If you have a better image of the beach please submit it!
