Flamborough Danes Dyke Beach, near Bridlington

Flamborough Head juts out miles into the North Sea and has in the past been effectively cut off by the construction of Danes Dyke, which encloses five square miles of the peninsula. The end of the Dyke is a deep ravine on the south side of the Headland, where it exits into Bridlington Bay. Located on the south side of the dramatic Flamborough Headland, the beach at Danes Dyke is an impressive 1km stretch of sand, striking white pebbles and rock pools, bound by imposing cliffs to the east and west. There are a number of nature trails which run through Danes Dyke Local Nature Reserve.
